I rather wonder if cockatoos are the mean girls of the Australian bush. To me, they have what it takes. They look great. There's no denying that - and I reckon they know it. That's classic mean girl. And the sound that comes out of their mouths (beaks) is pretty unpleasant and unforgiving . Another tick. And today one shat on me from a great height. It didn't miss either. It was black and disgusting. It doesn't get much meaner than that. But here's the thing. If you look good and act like you own the place you can get away with anything. It works in the school yard and if you can survive that little toxic microcosm you can survive and thrive anywhere.
