September 1. Day 245. Curiouser and curiouser

So curiosity killed the cat. We say that in a way that would suggest that curiosity is something dangerous to be avoided at all costs. But I wonder if anyone asked the cat what it made of the deal. My guess is that if it had its time over again it might well be a risk it was well prepared to take (easy to say when you have nine lives).
Truth is that an inquiring mind and a sense of wonderment are things that should be embraced and treasured and not stifled. As I tell my journalism students, lose the curiosity and you might as well find a new day job.
Will you just have a look at this little bloke? Today I found myself at Airport Village where the Art with Altitude Festival was in full swing.
Front and centre was a performance troop called the Live Jacaranda Curtain  (inspired by the Airport Link Jacarada Wall if you don't mind) This group, wearing way too much purple lyrca for grown people, strolled out and started tying their bodies in knots.
It was impossible not to stop and look. What I love about this young man is how he is not sure what to make of it but he just has to sneak a peek.
Too often when we get older we try to pretend we are too cool for school and refuse to be impressed.
I reckon we should embrace our inner sticky beak just a bit even if it does lead us down the odd rabbit hole occasionally.
If Curiosity is good enough for a Martian Rover, it should be good enough for us down here on earth,
